Gorsuch to meet Schumer Tuesday at high noon

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer will meet with President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch at the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday at noon.

Following Trump’s nomination of the 10th Circuit Court judge, Schumer called for a 60-vote threshold to confirm Gorsuch, which would require a number of Democrats to either vote for the judge or for an end to debate.

Vice President Mike Pence has said Gorsuch intends to meet with all 100 senators before the confirmation process takes place.

Gorsuch met with Democratic Sens. Jon Tester of Montana and Dianne Feinstein of California on Monday. Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., will meet with Gorsuch at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Trump nominated the fourth-generation Coloradoan on Jan. 31 to fill the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s vacant seat.
