Donald Trump, hoping for a home run on Nov. 8, has decided to run three campaign ads during Game 7 of the World Series Tuesday night between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians.
The Trump campaign announced the ad buy late Tuesday afternoon, noting that each 30-second spot will feature the Republican presidential nominee’s closing argument to American voters.
“We are excited to take our message directly to the millions of sports fans watching the World Series to let them know that they have a clear choice in this election, and Mr. Trump is the one who will fight for them,” Trump’s senior communications adviser, Jason Miller, said in a statement released by the campaign.
The ads, titled “Change,” “Choice” and “Corruption,” highlight the greatest differences between Trump and Hillary Clinton, who the GOP nominee has described as “the secretary of the status quo” and too corrupt to become commander in chief.
Trump recently contributed $10 million to his campaign and has previously said he intends to spend more than $100 million on his White House bid by Election Day. Donations to the campaign from the billionaire’s personal fortune have largely gone toward boosting his advertising in the states he needs to secure an Electoral College victory.
