Joe Biden expanded his lead over President Trump in a new Fox News poll.
Biden has a 12-point advantage over Trump, up from an 8-point lead last month, the poll showed.
50% of registered voters said they would vote for Biden, compared with 38% who said they’d support Trump if the presidential election were held today. Biden had 48% support in May, and Trump had 40%.
However, Trump supporters were more energetic about their candidate by a wide margin.
Sixty-two percent of Trump supporters said enthusiasm for their candidate was a big motivator in their vote, and 33% said the fear of the other candidate winning was the reason behind their vote.
Thirty-one percent of Biden supporters said enthusiasm for the presumptive Democratic nominee was driving their vote, and 63% said fear of Trump winning was the bigger factor.
The poll, released Thursday, surveyed 1,343 registered voters between June 13-16. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
The latest RealClearPolitics average of polling data shows Biden with an 8.5-point lead over Trump.
