‘Hey, Hey, Hey’: Bill Cosby blasted for weighing in on Father’s Day

Comedian Bill Cosby wished people a happy Father’s Day and was scolded for what some said was a lack of awareness, a year after being convicted of sexual assault.

“Hey, Hey, Hey…It’s America’s Dad…I know it’s late, but to all of the Dads… It’s an honor to be called a Father, so let’s make today a renewed oath to fulfilling our purpose —strengthening our families and communities,” Cosby said Sunday on Twitter.

Cosby posted to his message an old video of himself talking about slavery and racism.

Cosby, 81, who was found guilty of three counts of sexual assault in April 2018, was not well-received on Twitter, with many noting the irony of encouraging family values while also being a convicted rapist.

Cosby was found guilty of sexual assault after being accused of drugging and molesting a woman at his Pennsylvania home in 2004.

The trial represented the first celebrity trial since the beginning of the #MeToo movement in 2017.

Cosby was known as “America’s Dad” before his downfall.
