The Republican National Committee and President Trump’s re-election campaign on Labor Day praised American workers and the administration’s “pro-growth” policies.
“Today, we join the rest of the country in expressing our gratitude for America’s working men and women, and recognize their hard work and sacrifices that contribute so much to our society,” Lara Trump, senior adviser to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and the president’s daughter-in-law, said in a statement.
“As manufacturing is revived, record job creation expands, and wages rise in the Trump economy, America’s workforce knows that they’ve never had a greater champion than President Donald Trump. In fact, 85 percent of blue collar workers now believe their lives are heading in the right direction,” she added. “The best way to build on this record and honor American workers is to continue the fight for new jobs and bigger paychecks — to which President Trump has pledged his fervent commitment.”
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel paid tribute to the laborers who drive America’s economic success, adding that unemployment numbers this year give people a reason to celebrate.
“Thanks to the leadership of President Trump, Republicans continue to create policies that allow every American to thrive. With over 3 million new jobs, historic lows in unemployment for youth, Hispanics, and African Americans, and lower taxes for the middle-class, the Republican Party and the Trump administration will continue to fight for every American worker and champion pro-growth policies that strengthen our nation’s economy,”
On Friday, the White House said its tax reforms, deregulation, and focus on cultivating U.S. energy have led to initial claims for jobless benefits hitting a half-century low.
“On Labor Day, we celebrate the American worker: the bulwark of our national prosperity and the cornerstone of our national greatness. Since taking office, my Administration has sought to restore the obligation of loyalty and allegiance that this Nation’s Government owes to its workers,” Trump said, echoing a point he promised to deliver on as a candidate for president. “In all economic decisions, we believe in our sovereign obligation to defend and protect our country’s workforce, and to seek its economic interests above that of any other country. America’s workers pay our taxes, support our values, serve in our military, raise our children, protect our Constitution, and build our communities. They deserve, in return, the unwavering fidelity of their Government.”
