Clinton was introduced by 17 speakers at a Women for Hillary rally in Culver, Calif., on Friday, most of them famous Hollywood actresses.
The all female cast of openers at the Clinton rally included actresses Sophia Bush, Elizabeth Banks, Jamie King, Debra Messing, Mary Steenburgen and Sally Field as well as Rep. Linda Sanchez, among others. Hollywood DJ Samantha Ronson played music as voters walked into the event.
Clinton’s posse was out in force, defending her against Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders before the June 7 primary.
“Hillary Clinton is the Katniss Everdeen of our party. She is badass and she is ready to lead,” Rep. Sanchaz said before introducing Banks, who stars in one of the “Hunger Games” movies.
Messing of “Will and Grace” added that the stakes are extremely high in this election as Clinton is running against “a reckless bigot and misogynist.
Fields responded to those who question Clinton’s likeability by rhetorically asking, “What is this, a high school popularity contest?”
Clinton and Sanders are in a tight fight in California, according to recent polls, though she is likely to clinch the nomination Tuesday. Head-to-head matchup polls show Trump and Clinton also in a competitive race.
