SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont consumer and environmental group is keying its summer canvassing campaign around the debate over labeling of genetically modified food.
Leaders of the Vermont Public Interest Research Group say they’ll be out knocking on doors this summer looking to educate the public about legislation that passed the Vermont House this year but still awaits action in the Senate.
Supporters of the measure say consumers have a right to know whether their food contains genetically modified organisms.
