Police have identified the pedestrian seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Silver Spring last week as Danny Elizabeth Alay-Mateo, 22.
Montgomery County police said it’s unknown why she was in the northbound lane on the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue on Sept. 25 at about 8:15 p.m. She was struck by a dark-colored vehicle that fled the scene.
Police described the vehicle as a a 1994 to 1998 GMC Jimmy, Chevy S-10 pick-up truck, Chevy Blazer or Oldsmobile Bravada that likely has damage to the right front headlight.
Alay-Mateo remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
