Student charged with arson for Bowie High School fire

A 15-year-old Bowie High School student has been charged with arson for allegedly setting a fire inside a school bathroom.

The blaze was set in a trash can in a second-floor bathroom on Monday, according to Prince George’s County fire and emergency services.  The fire department said a 15-year-old boy was charged with arson and reckless endangerment.

His name was not released because he is a juvenile. The boy was arrested and released to his parents’ custody on Monday.

The school is located at 15200 Annapolis Road.
