Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. campaigned across the state Monday and sounded more like a politician ready to lead the Republican party than lead a minority.
During a seven-city swing across the Bluegrass state on the eve of November’s midterm elections, McConnell stressed that a vote for him on Tuesday would be a vote for the Republican leadership.
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul echoed those sentiments Monday night, telling reporters in Bowling Green that he supports a McConnell leadership and hopes to vote for the Kentucky Senator when Congress resumes in January.
Republicans have been gaining momentum and are seen as the party most likely to control the Senate after Tuesday’s election.
