President Joe Biden is meeting Tuesday with two key Senate Democrats in a bid to pave the way for a deal on a social welfare spending package by a critical Thursday deadline.

Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona are meeting with the president in separate meetings to discuss what it will take for them to back the massive spending package, aides confirmed.
