Judge rejects injunction for firefighters fired over Seattle vaccine mandate

An injunction filed to protect two Seattle firefighters who were fired for not getting COVID-19 vaccines was rejected by a Washington judge.

The motion was denied due to the firefighters’ inability to prove they endured irreparable injuries from their firing, according to King County Judge Matthew Williams.

Williams also said the “public interest” bears greater importance than the men’s request or injunctive relief, according to a report.

Seattle’s COVID-19 Civil Emergency Proclamation is slated to terminate at the end of this month, and other pandemic-related policies will begin to be rolled back at the start of November, the report noted.

Still, Seattle’s vaccine mandate is still in effect, with no signs of being lifted.

At least 23 firefighters of the Seattle Fire Department have filed suit against the fire chief and city for wage theft and religious discrimination, according to the report.
