TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN 1996 DISAPPEARANCE OF KRISTIN SMART
Smart disappeared after walking home from a fraternity party while she was a student at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Her body was never found by authorities, and she was formally declared dead in 2002.
Both Paul and Ruben Flores were charged and arrested in April 2021 after authorities found “items of interest” allegedly linking the father-son duo to Smart’s case.

Paul Flores now faces 25 years to life in prison with the guilty verdict. Sentencing has been set for Dec. 9.
