Meghan McCain told Democrats they should stop talking about impeaching President Trump and just start the process.
“Unleash the kraken,” the 34-year-old co-host of The View said Tuesday. “Because honestly, if you’re not going to listen to Nancy Pelosi about the political implications of this, just impeach him then. See what happens politically.”
“I’m sick of hearing everyone bitching about it,” she added.
McCain also blasted her fellow hosts during the segment for acting as if they actually thought Trump is a unique threat compared to previous presidents.
“Let me counter that just one second. I’ve watched a lot of clips of The View from when Bush was running, my dad was running, and Romney was running. And it sounds a lot the same,” McCain said Tuesday after Whoopi Goldberg lamented that Trump was not someone who could be trusted. “You were calling for Bush’s impeachment at one time. So again, there’s a certain point where Republicans watching … bear with me. When Republicans watching, you’re sounding an alarm at all times, so it’s hard to differentiate between who you think you can trust. Because 10 years ago, you couldn’t trust Bush, you couldn’t trust Romney, you couldn’t trust my dad.”
McCain has been a vocal critic of Trump, who has been a frequent critic of her father, the late Sen. John McCain. At the same time, McCain calls herself “the first real Republican” the show hired, and she frequently clashes with her more liberal co-hosts.
In 2018, Goldberg cut short a segment after McCain yelled at host Joy Behar for trying to praise former President George H.W. Bush after his death by criticizing Trump and his policies.
