An MS-13 member referred to as “Animal” was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years in prison for conspiring to murder a 15-year-old in East Boston.
Joel Martinez, the 23-year-old Salvadoran gang member known as “Animal,” will face deportation after serving his sentenced prison time, according to the Boston Herald.
“Animal” admitted to murdering a teenager in East Boston in September of 2015.
“I stabbed the culero [asshole] three times,” Martinez said in his admission. “He stared at me and he asked me if I was going to, if I was going to stab him. I told him, ‘Yes, the Mara [gang] rules you.’”
President Trump called MS-13 gang members “animals” last week in a meeting and was criticized for his characterization of the criminals.
Multiple media outlets also falsely reported, without context, that Trump was generally referring to all illegal immigrant as “animals,” when in fact he was strictly referring to MS-13 gang members.
