TikTok bans ‘That Vegan Teacher’

A controversial TikTok user who goes by the username “That Vegan Teacher” was removed from the platform.

The account, operated by Kadie Karen Diekmeyer, had amassed 1.7 million followers, according to Insider, and can no longer be found.

One Twitter user pointed out the removal on Monday night, noting that the app said the ban was due to “multiple Community Guidelines violations.”

TikTok did not immediately respond to the Washington Examiner‘s request for more information about the reason for her removal.

Some users believe her removal had to do with comments she directed toward a minor on the platform.

Using the stitch feature of the app, Diekmeyer told a 16-year-old who goes by TommyInIt, “Tommy! Nice vegan girls don’t want to see your buttons, but if you want them to play with your buttons, you’ll have to show them your fruits and your vegetables.”

A Change.org petition to have Diekmeyer removed from TikTok, which was created five months ago, had over 20,000 signatures as of Thursday afternoon. The petitions claimed she “violated multiple community guidelines in various videos, duets and sounds.”

In a 23-minute video posted to YouTube on Tuesday, Diekmeyer said in reference to the removal, “I know many of you are jumping for joy and thinking this is a great victory.” She added, “Somehow, it makes you smile to know that an animal rights activist is being silenced on one of the platforms. Why is that? Why does that bring you joy? I know why. It’s because you’re feeling guilty. You know you shouldn’t be eating animals.”

She also compared current conditions for animals across the globe to the horrors of the Holocaust.

“The animals have it worse,” she said. “The Holocaust never ended for them.”

One Twitter user on Tuesday pointed out a TikTok account that also appeared to be created by Diekmeyer with the name “that.holocaust.teacher.” The account appears to have been removed by the company.
