Another reason to visit Mount Vernon: A limited supply of George Washington’s rye whiskey is now available for customers eager to try the drink made from the first president’s recipe. Only 500 bottles are for sale, after the first batch of the limited edition spirit sold out in two hours in July. The 375 ml bottles sell for $95 each and contain the unaged, twice-distilled spirit at 43 percent alcohol. The whiskey can only be purchased in person at the Shops at Mount Vernon.
