Biden: Republicans ‘savaged my surviving son’ Hunter

Joe Biden accused Republicans of telling “flat-out lies” about his son, Hunter Biden, during the seventh Democratic primary debate.

“I understand how these guys are, this Republican Party,” the former vice president said Tuesday. “They have gone after — savaged my surviving son, gone after me — told lies your networks won’t carry on televisions because they are flat-out lies.”

Hunter Biden, 49, has been hit by Republicans over a high-paying board position he had on the Ukrainian gas company, Burisma. Joe Biden, 77, fought back against attacks on Hunter’s decision to sit on the board, but Hunter admitted he had “poor judgment” in accepting the position.

Hunter Biden has also come under scrutiny for a litany of domestic problems. He has admitted to struggling with drug abuse, and, before the 2016 presidential election, a cocaine pipe and “white powdery substance” was found in his rental car.

The son of the former vice president dated his dead brother’s widow, Hallie Biden, from 2017 until early last year. He has three children and has recently fathered two more. Biden said he would be relinquishing custody rights with a child he allegedly fathered with a former Arkansas stripper. His current wife, whom he married secretly last summer, is reportedly pregnant.
