O’Malley thinks P.G. could use a new tree

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is dropping into Prince George’s County on Friday to plant a tree with students in celebration of Earth Day.

At 2 p.m., O’Malley is scheduled to join 20 kids from Upper Marlboro Rivers Adventure Camp at the Upper Marlboro Community Center.

His Stateness also will highlight the Marylanders Plant Trees Program, which has surpassed its goal to have citizens plant 50,000 trees across the state.

Their new goal? An additional 50,000 trees by the end of 2012.
