Sarah Palin makes fun of Cruz’s basketball gaffe

Sarah Palin, a supporter of Donald Trump, is making fun of Ted Cruz for calling a basketball hoop a “ring.”

“It’s smarter to actually put the ball through the HOOP before you claim victory,” Palin wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday. Along with the post are two pictures of a younger Palin in her basketball jersey for Wasilla High School, where she played point guard.

The post is undoubtedly a jab at Cruz’s refusal to drop out of the 2016 race, even though he was mathematically eliminated.

On Tuesday, when Cruz held a rally in Indiana where the classic movie “Hoosiers” was filmed, he committed an unfortunate sports gaffe.

“You know, the amazing thing about that basketball ring here in Indiana, it’s the same height as it is in New York City and every other place in this country,” the Texas senator said in alluding to the state’s primary. “And there is nothing that Hoosiers cannot do.”

Trump, on the other hand, is set to hold a rally with legendary college basketball coach Bobby Knight in Indianapolis late Wednesday to accept his endorsement.
