WHO: Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas
WHAT: Sponsored a $1.6 million earmark for a Chicago company represented by a former Sessions aide, who was paid nearly half a million dollars for lobbying in 2008 and who has a criminal record. The company claims to be designing a new airship for civilian and military applications.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The head of the airship company is a Sessions campaign contributor and has no experience in airship design, except attending a 2005 Pentagon conference on the field.
