Trump says his brother’s funeral may be held at White House

President Trump said the White House may be the location for his younger brother Robert Trump’s funeral.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Trump said that Robert’s memorial service would probably be set for Friday.

“And we may do just a small service right here in the White House for my brother,” the president said. “We’re looking at doing that. That would be, I think, a great honor to him. I think he’d be greatly honored. He loves our country. He loved our country so much. He was so proud of what we were doing and what we are doing for our country.”

Robert died Saturday night at the age of 71. Trump had traveled to Manhattan on Friday to visit him at the New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. The White House has not released the cause of death.

The president also spoke about his brother during a Monday morning appearance on Fox News.

“It was not a great weekend. It’s very hard. You knew it was going to happen, but still, when it happens, it’s a very tough thing. He was a great guy. He was a tremendous guy. He was my friend. I guess they say best friend, and that’s true, and, you know, losing him, not easy,” he said.
