Ohio State Attacker a Somali With Legal Permanent Residency in U.S.

The man who attacked several people with a knife at Ohio State University Monday is of Somali descent and is a permanent legal resident of the United States. CNN reports:

Investigators have identified the suspect, who lived in the area, but have not publicized his name, the official said. The car used in the attack was registered to a family member. A US official says the suspect was a legal permanent resident. Investigators are still trying to determine a motive…. The suspect in the Ohio State University attack rammed his car into a group of pedestrians before using a butcher knife to cut several people, OSU officials said.

Meanwhile, NBC News reports that law enforcement is identifying the attacker as 18-year-old Abdul Razak Ali Artan.
