The Democratic National Committee may be preparing to release data on Donald Trump’s finances, self-proclaimed hacker Guccifer 2.0 said on Tuesday.

“I found out something interesting in emails between DNC employees and Hillary Clinton campaign staff,” Guccifer said in a post to his WordPress blog. “Democrats prepare a new provocation against Trump. After Trump sent his financial report in May it appeared on DNC servers at once. DNC rushed to analyze it and asked the Jones Mandel company to make an effective investigation.
“I won’t be surprised if some mainstream media like the New York Times or CNN publish soon Trump’s financial docs. No doubt who could give them,” Guccifer wrote.

Guccifer included the image of a May 11, 2016 memo purportedly produced by Democratic research firm Jones Mandel. The document suggests filing Freedom of Information Act requests aimed at obtaining records on Trump that included state and federal lobbying records, tax assessments, mortgage records, and Department of Agriculture records on Trump steaks.
He also published the image of an IRS Form 990 for the Trump Foundation, which he said was obtained from DNC servers. The significance of that particular claim, if credible, is unclear: The document is public information, and has been published previously.
Guccifer, who has described himself as a Romanian hacker, has released reams of documents from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. A statement issued jointly this month by the Department of Homeland Security and the Director of National Intelligence said authorities believe Guccifer is acting in collusion with the Russian government.He also published screenshots taken from DNC emails.
