Sen. Kamala Harris is in a statistical deadlock with front-runner Joe Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a new national poll.
The Quinnipiac poll shows the California Democrat at 20% support, with the former vice president holding on to the lead with 22% support.
The margin of error for the poll was plus or minus 5%. Biden’s 22% support was an 8% drop from a June 11 poll by Quinnipiac, which showed him at 30% support.
Harris was in fifth place and polling at only 7% earlier this month.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren is polling at 14%, which is one point down from earlier this month.
Sen. Bernie Sanders and South Bend, Indiana. Mayor Pete Buttigieg rounded out the top five of the new poll at 13% and 4% respectively.
Biden’s drop could be chalked up to respondents ranking him as having the second-worst debate performance out of the 20 Democrats.
Only 11 of the 25 candidates polled in the Quinnipiac poll showed any level of support in the poll.
