A man was shot and wounded late Monday night near the home of Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon’s home, causing her body guards to respond to the victim.
At 11:10 p.m., a driver and passanger were traveling along Swann Avenue in West Baltimore near the Baltimore County line, where Dixon lives, when an unknown suspect drove by and fired into the car, police said.
The victim called 911 and then drove around looking for help, eventually stopping on Winans Way near the mayor’s house, said Baltimore police department spokesman Sterling Clifford.
Dixon’s constant security detail, called the Executive Protection Unit, saw the vehicle and responded to the victim. He has been taken to an area hospital, where he was being treated. There have been no arrests in the shooting.
