Moments after Bernie Sanders finished his address at the Democratic National Convention Monday evening, his Twitter account fired a direct shot at Donald Trump, who had been live-tweeting the event.
Speaking to the delegates gathered in Philadelphia and audiences around the country, Sanders urged Democrats to unite behind Hillary Clinton, who is expected to officially become the party’s nominee this week, while panning Trump.
Using his preferred method of quick hits against his political rivals, Trump tweeted, “Bernie Sanders totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton. All of that work, energy and money, and nothing to show for it! Waste of time.”

Sanders’ official account shot back, responding directly to Trump’s tweet with a short message: “Never tweet.”

The exchange is similar to another Twitter back-and-forth, this one between Trump and Clinton in June right after President Obama endorsed Clinton.
“Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary. He wants four more years of Obama—but nobody else does!” Trump tweeted.
