Authorities are investigating a possible explosive device discovered near the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Washington.
Witnesses reported a person placing what was described as a “suspicious package” near the gate just after 11:45 am PST.
The Bremerton Police have shut down traffic in the area while the investigation is being carried out. Employees at the shipyard and nearby Naval Base Kitsap-Bermerton have been told to shelter in place.
The area of Pacific Ave south to the ferry terminal entrance is shut down for an incident involving a person placing what appears to be an explosive device just inside the Bremerton PSNS gate. Stay clear of the area for now.

Ferry service in the area has also been disrupted.
The incident comes only one day after an attack on cars near the Seattle Tacoma Airport.
At least four cars were reportedly struck with gunfire, and police were forced to close highway traffic for five hours.
Police are still searching for the suspect or suspects.
