Former Rep. Joe Walsh ‘literally’ grabbing his musket after baseball shooting

Former Rep. Joe Walsh once again tweeted about grabbing his musket Thursday in reaction to a shooting at the GOP baseball practice in Alexandria, Va.

In October, Walsh stirred controversy when he tweeted that if Donald Trump lost the election, “I’m grabbing my musket.”

He later explained on CNN that his tweet was a means of “protesting” rather than being an actual threat.

This time around, Walsh said, “Grab your musket,” adding that he “meant it literally.”

He was responding to a tweet about Walsh’s original musket tweet, which said, “Even if this former Congressman meant this figuratively, this type of violent speech is irresponsible hyperbole.”

Though it’s not clear what exactly Walsh meant by saying he “meant it literally.” However, after House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and a handful of others were injured in the Wednesday morning shooting, one Republican lawmaker pushed for conceal carry for lawmakers in Washington, D.C., and another wants D.C., to recognize concealed carry permits from other states.
