First Day, an Australian miniseries that tells the tale of a transgender girl making her way through high school, won best live-action series Tuesday at the 2021 International Kids Emmy Awards.
The show stars transgender actor Evie Macdonald, a biological male who identifies as female, as 12-year-old transgender girl Hannah.
First Day can be seen in the United States on Hulu and has been praised for its representation of the transgender struggle.
