A federal jury in Baltimore acquitted the Maryland state senator of all charges in his influence peddling case. Curry, a Democrat from Prince George’s County, was accused of accepting more than $245,000 for favors by an elected official. Curry said the money was payment for his consulting deal with the Shopper’s Food Warehouse chain. Curry was charged with conspiracy, bribery, extortion and making false statements. Two former company executives were on trial with Curry and also were acquitted.
