President Trump is weighing trips this summer to Italy and Israel, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Friday.
Despite reports this week that Trump is considering Israel as the destination for his first trip abroad since taking office, Spicer would not confirm the plan when asked about it by reporters traveling on Air Force One.
He said Rome and Israel were among the options under consideration by the White House.
Separately, a White House official told the Washington Examiner on Thursday that Israel is one of several places in the mix for a “future visit” as the White House conducts “ongoing conversations” with a number of countries.
Trump is already scheduled to attend the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany in July, which will mark his first overseas visit if the White House does not plan additional travel before then.
The White House confirmed earlier this month that Trump would likely seek an audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican if the president traveled to Rome.
