An abandoned newborn baby was saved after it was almost struck by an ATV near the Arizona-Mexico border.
Border Patrol Agent Mike Jones encountered a large number of illegal migrants who were swiftly apprehended when the child was found, according to a report.
Jones said he and his team began questioning the migrants.

“The questions we ask are, ‘Is there anyone else in the group? Where is everyone else in the group?’ No one gave us any answers,” he said.
As a team of agents interviewed the migrants, Jones, on an ATV, drove away to follow a set of footprints trailing off into the desert, according to the report.
He was forced to swerve as a camouflage bundle came into his vision.
Believing that the bundle might be drugs or illicit substances, Jones approached the bundle, which resembled a pile of clothes, and unraveled it.
The agent then came face to face with a quiet, 5-week-old baby, the report noted
Jones was able to see that the child was physically healthy, and he returned to the group to question the migrants about the child.
“I actually had to ask two more times in a more stern way, more stern manner, until one woman decided to very hesitantly put up her hand and say that the baby belonged to her,” he told Bill Hemmer of Fox News.
The team of agents moved the migrants to a host station for processing and to administer medical attention to the newborn, the report noted.
Agents like himself uncover several migrant minors on a daily basis, Jones said.
