CNN anchor Jake Tapper confirms ‘State of the Union’ producer dismissed after behavior complaints

CNN’s Jake Tapper said that one of his producers has been dismissed in response to behavior complaints from three women.

Teddy Davis, who is a senior producer on “State of the Union,” on which Tapper is the anchor, was let go over behavior “that does not align with the standards and values of CNN,” the network told the Washington Post’s Paul Farhi, who shared the news in a tweet.

Tapper responded to Farhi, confirming the news and said he supported CNN’s actions.

CNN’s Brian Stelter tweeted out a full statement from CNN: “A comprehensive investigation was conducted as soon as this matter was brought to our attention. The behavior attributed to Mr. Davis does not align with the standards and values of CNN and Mr. Davis is no longer with the company.”

An attorney for Davis said that his client was not accused of any sort of sexual misconduct.

“My client was not accused of sexual harassment. Nor was he ever accused of any physical contact, language of a sexual nature or any other sort of lewd conduct,” said Michael Weinsten of Lavely & Singer.

The news came hours after NBC fired Matt Lauer, who had long been a co-host of “Today,” following a sexual misconduct allegation. More allegations against Lauer have followed since the story broke.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect that behavior complaints were made against Davis. He was not accused of harassment.
