LIBERIAN OFFICIALS ARE PLEADING WITH THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO QUICKLY FOLLOW THROUGH ON PLEDGES OF CASH TO HELP COMBAT EBOLA.

THE NATION’S HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IS OVERWHELMED.

BODIES ARE PILING UP IN THE CAPITOL MONROVIA… TEAMS WAIT TO REMOVE THEM FROM HOSPITALS… THIS WOMAN LAID DEAD IN THE STREET OVER THE WEEKEND OUTSIDE AN EBOLA WARD.

AND THIS AMBULANCE DRIVER SAYS OF THE TEN PATIENTS HE TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL, THREE DIED WHILE WAITING FOR HELP.

MANY HEALTH FACILITIES HAVE CLOSED OR TURNED PATIENTS AWAY, UNABLE TO TREAT OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS.

“We need to reopen our hospitals and our clinics all over the country to provide regular health services to our citizens. Right now when people get sick they go to the hospital because they don’t know whether they are Ebola or non-Ebola, they get rejected.”

RIGHT NOW LIBERIA DOESN’T HAVE THE MONEY OR RESOURCES TO STOP THE DEADLY OUTBREAK.

DESPITE A NEW EBOLA ISOLATION UNIT SET UP WITH HELP FROM THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION, LIBERIA’S FINANCE MINISTER PLEADED – IT’S STILL NOT ENOUGH.

MORE THAN 26-HUNDRED PEOPLE HAVE DIED ACROSS WEST AFRICA.

A THREE-DAY LOCKDOWN IN SIERRA LEONE IS NOW OVER.

OFFICIALS ESTIMATE MORE THAN A MILLION HOUSEHOLDS WERE CHECKED FOR NEW PATIENTS.
