Comedian Billy Eichner took a shot at Justice Clarence Thomas and other members of the Supreme Court during his appearance at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Eichner, who is gay, commented on the 6-3 conservative majority Supreme Court while discussing the upcoming movie Bros, which he co-wrote and stars in. The movie, Eichner claims, is “the first gay rom-com” from a major studio and the first film “where every role is played by an openly LGBTQ actor.”
“I need you all there on Sept. 30, because we need to show all the homophobes like Clarence Thomas and all the homophobes on the Supreme Court that we want gay love stories,” Eichner said. “And we support LGBTQ people, and we are not letting them drag us into the last century, because they are in the past, and Bros is the future.”

SUPREME COURT FENCING REMOVED, BUILDING REMAINS CLOSED
The Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization in June overturned Roe v. Wade and returned the issue of abortion access to states. Thomas wrote a concurring opinion arguing the court should “correct the error” of rulings that protect same-sex marriage and contraception access.
Eichner tweeted in response to Roe being overturned to “get your hateful Bible stories and your fake fictional religious bulls*** out of our f***ing lives.”
