Rockstar Games, the developer of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, confirmed that it was hacked after a series of clips from Grand Theft Auto VI were posted online.
The game developer confirmed Monday that a hacker had accessed its systems and released footage from the upcoming game. This hacker also claims to have been behind the Thursday hacking of Uber and has threatened to leak additional information about the game if the company does not agree to a settlement.

“We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way,” the company said in a tweet. “Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.”
The developer said it will keep fans informed and plans to “properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready.”
A hacker posted dozens of never-before-seen clips from the game to an online messaging board, according to Bloomberg. The hacker claimed he was the same one who hacked Uber’s internal systems and said he was “looking to negotiate a deal” with the publisher.
