Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel added a new section to the City of Chicago’s official website this weekend which includes climate change information that was recently pulled from the Environmental Protection Agency’s website.
The new page points out that the information is no longer available on the agency’s website, but sends a clear message to the Trump administration: “[I]n Chicago we know climate change is real and we will continue to take action to fight it,” the site reads.
Emmanuel told Politico that the Trump administration can try to erase years of research, but “burying your head in the sand” will not solve the problem of climate change.
The EPA’s current website reads; “We are currently updating our website to reflect EPA’s priorities under the leadership of President Trump and Administrator Pruitt.” The site also offers a “January 19 snapshot” link where you can access information the EPA displayed under the Obama administration.
