Simple success at the Leffler Agency

The Leffler Agency likes to keep things simple.

“Human wants don?t change, humanity doesn?t change,” agency founder and owner Bob Leffler said. “You show the event that [customers] are going to see when they get there, come up with a slogan and keep it current. Keep it simple. It?s the same with everything.”

The former marketing and sales director for the Colts, Leffler founded the Leffler Agency, a full-service advertising and PR firm, in 1984. “The Colts moved and I didn?t like any of the jobs out there, so I did this. It was that simple,” he said.

Twenty-two years later, the Leffler Agency is still going strong. With 20 employees and 45 clients in Baltimore and Tampa, where its partner office is, the company has made itself known for its work within sports entertainment, handling accounts for both the Ravens and Orioles.

“We do everything. We have automotive, retail, media, medical, insurance, business to business, but sports and entertainment has become our specialty,” Leffler explained. “Half of our accounts are sports and entertainment, which is way more than anyone else in America, coast to coast.”

Swanson Automotive has been a client of the Leffler Agency since 1987. Owner John Fratta says part of the reason the company has stayed with the agency for so long is because they listen to what he has to say.

“Everyone told me basically what they were going to do in terms of trying to change who we were,” he said. “I knew who we were, what direction we wanted to go in. We just needed someone to take our ideas and sophisticate what we couldn?t do ourselves.”
