LOS ANGELES (AP) — The National Weather Service has extended a flash-flood warning to midday for central Riverside and northeastern San Diego counties as moisture from former Hurricane Norbert streams through Southern California.

Meteorologists say radar shows thunderstorms continuing to drop rain at rates in excess of an inch an hour late Monday morning.

The weather service says these thunderstorms will likely produce flash flooding along the desert slopes and into Borrego Springs.

On Sunday, numerous cars became stuck in high water as thunderstorms pounded the inland counties east of Los Angeles.
