President Trump on Wednesday praised Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison in his race to become the next chair of the Democratic National Committee, by pointing out that Ellison didn’t underestimate Trump’s chances of winning the presidency.
“One thing I will say about Rep. Keith Ellison, in his fight to lead the DNC, is that he was the one who predicted early that I would win!” Trump tweeted.

Ellison was a panelist in a now-famous discussion on ABC and said he believed Trump could possibly win the Republican nomination. The other panelists broke out into laughter at the suggestion.
Ellison is now considered one of the two front-runners for leading the DNC. His main competition is former Labor Secretary Tom Perez.
