The Ward 6 D.C. councilman continued to play out his new role as the council’s ethics hawk, announcing on NewsChannel 8’s “NewsTalk” that he wants to repeal a controversial provision to bring Internet gambling to the District. Wells said he’ll try to repeal the online gambling provision when the council returns this fall because “it didn’t go through a public process.” The measure authorizing D.C. Lottery to create the gambling program was slipped into a budget bill in December, dodging a public hearing.
