Judd was set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame with her daughter Wynonna Sunday.
The duo’s final televised performance was at the CMT Music Awards earlier this month.
“We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of the legendary Naomi Judd and honored to have shared many unforgettable moments and performances together over the years. Our hearts go out to her husband Larry, daughters Wynonna and Ashley, and her legions of fans around the world during this difficult time,” a spokesman for CMT said.
Judd was born Diana Ellen Judd in Ashland, Kentucky, on Jan. 11, 1946, and is survived by her two daughters and her husband, Larry Strickland. Wynonna, born Christina Ciminella, was planning on a nationwide tour with her mother as The Judds beginning on Sept. 30. It is unclear if the tour will continue in the wake of her mother’s death.
