President Trump denied he is considering replacing chief of staff Mick Mulvaney with White House counselor Kellyanne Conway or Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

Trump’s denial follows a report that the president was weighing whether to replace Mulvaney amid his handling of House impeachment proceedings. He has reportedly asked advisers for their thoughts on Conway and also floated Mnuchin and deputy chief of staff Chris Liddell as possible Mulvaney replacements.
Trump’s closest associates have compiled a list of other potentials, including former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and veteran political operative Wayne Berman.
Mulvaney has served as Trump’s top White House aide since John Kelly resigned from the role late last year.
