Electrical problem sparks Severn fire

About 50 firefighters battled a house fire in Severn on Saturday that resulted in $100,000 in damage.

Anne Arundel County firefighters were summoned to the 7800 block of Chalice Road at 9:11 a.m. and found a two-story house on fire. The two residents were not injured, nor were any firefighters.

The fire started in an upstairs bedroom as a result of an unknown electrical problem, said Lt. Roy Phillips, county fire department spokesman.
