For the Piccirilli Group, it?s all in the family.
“I joined the team when I was 12 years old,” president and Chief Executive Officer Aaron Piccirilli said. “I scraped glue off of the floors before we used computers for graphic design.”
The Piccirilli Group, founded by Aaron?s father Charles Piccirilli in 1969, provides identity, advertising, direct mail, process management and interactive services. The 10-employee company currently serves about 25 active clients, including Jos. A Bank, MBNA, Walnut Springs Mountain Reserve and Rainbow Printing of Maryland.
Piccirilli took over as president and CEO when his father retired in 2003. His brother, Micah, is the principal and creative director.
Calling the agency a “horizontal company,” Piccirilli emphasizes the fact that all employees work together. “On all jobs and all deadlines, everyone helps,” he said. “That?s how we get to the best results.”
Piccirilli says that the company?s location in Bel Air has significant advantages. “Harford County is peaceful. We?re not in the hustle and bustle of the city, we?re in a peaceful atmosphere where we can think closely about what our clients need,” he said.
Keeping the company small allows the employees to focus on the client?s needs. “We can keep the ultimate goal of the client in mind, we?re not taking the time to do 150 other things,” Piccirilli said. “Our goal is to expand to maybe 15 or 20 people, but not any bigger. We feel we might lose the ability tocreate solutions that will bring results.”
Walnut Springs Mountain Reserve has been with the group for the last 10 months. “Piccirilli is our exclusive agency,” said Neil Welsh, director of sales and marketing for Walnut Springs. “Not only was I impressed with their graphics, but the level of detail that they paid to each item of work was just absolutely out of this world. They made me feel like we were the only clients they ever had.”
