Blink 182 boycotting FedEx over NRA

The pop punk band Blink-182 announced it will stop using FedEx following the company’s decision not to sever its relationship with the National Rifle Association.

Bassist and singer for the band, Mark Hoppus, tweeted Monday night he instructed his band’s representatives to stop using FedEx shipping because of the company’s ongoing relationship with the NRA.

“.@fedex has chosen to continue its business relationship with the NRA, despite its board member pushing conspiracies against children who survived Parkland,” Hoppus tweeted. “I’ve directed our representatives to stop using them, and encourage you to do the same.”

FedEx announced Monday it wouldn’t end its relationship with the NRA despite pressure to do so stemming from the surrounding criticisms of the gun rights advocates group following the Parkland, FL tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where 17 people were killed.

“FedEx has never set or changed rates for any of our millions of customers around the world in response to their politics, beliefs, or position on issues,” the shipping company said in a statement.

The company asserted the NRA is one of “hundreds of organizations” that participate in their alliances/associate marketing program, and the shipping giant will not discriminate against the association.

FedEx’s announcement breaks with other companies that have since cut ties with the NRA following the Florida massacre, including Delta Airlines, Enterprise, Best Western, and United Airlines.
