Bonuses For a Job … Never Mind

From Military Times, we learn:

Ohio Veterans Affairs hospitals paid out nearly $6.5 million in bonuses to employees in the past year… bonuses went to more than 6,000 employees of the state’s five VA hospitals during a year the agency was criticized for long veterans’ waits for health care and workers falsifying records to cover up delays.

Stars & Stripes is, meanwhile, reporting:

The Department of Veterans Affairs has recommended the removal of four senior officials around the country, but missing from that list is the director of the troubled operation in Phoenix.

The Arizona VA operation was, by all accounts, the most toxic in a poisoned system but, again from Stars and Stripes, we learn that:

Employees of the beleaguered Phoenix VA health care system say many of the problems that led to a nationwide scandal still plague the system five months after revelations of patients dying on secret wait lists, falsified data and a toxic culture.
