RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island marine research group is working with local authorities on a plan to remove a dead whale that has washed ashore.

Newsday reports (http://bit.ly/13iqFw3 ) that the whale washed ashore on a Hampton Bays beach Wednesday morning.
