Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will be promoting the county’s new bag tax by distributing reusable bags to early bird Black Friday shoppers.
Leggett plans to hand out the bags from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday at the Target and Kohl’s at 9811 Washingtonian Blvd. in Gaithersburg and from 11:15 to 11:30 at the Best Buy at 1200 Rockville Pike in Rockville. While handing out the bags, he also will be reminding shoppers about the 5-cent bag tax, that takes effect Jan. 1.
